From Ping-Pong to diving, caving to kite-boarding, João Pessoa has it all. There are many clubs and societies for sailing, swimming, tennis, capoeira and fishing, in fact there seems to be something for everyone for in one way or another.
There are many places along the city’s beaches where one can play volleyball or football, workout on the exercise areas with bars etc.
The main surfer’s beach at Intermares is very popular and a little further up the coast at Poço they have kite-surfing. You can get all the beach grades from the local surf shops on the sea front of Manaira and Bessa near MAG shopping.
Early morning and early afternoon finds hundreds of people walking up and down the beach roads from Cabo branco to Intermares, some taking a gentle stroll others power-walking.
Fancy a night out? Take a look at the “what’s on” Guide, it is a fully customisable calendar, so you can set it to show the kind of things you are interested in. It covers the theatre, cinemas, live music in bars and restaurants, concerts, exhibitions and much, much more. Once you have chosen a place to go, check out the going out section and see if there is a review and map showing where the venue is.
