Although we live in the Northeast of Brazil where there is no “summer” time, it is very important that we are aware of it as summer time is the official time of the country. It means that people who travel around Brazil, take federal examinations or even watch TV need to understand that they must pay more attention to local and Brazil time if they are not to miss anything.
Summer Time starts at midnight on 18 October, when clocks move forward an hour andl remain so until midnight on February 21, 2010.
Mato Grosso do Sul, as well as the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Goias, Mato Grosso and the Federal District, Brasília, will be affected by the change.
